DEPARTMENT’S ACHIEVEMENTS
2011 - diplomate board exam given by the Philippine Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Frances Puentespina, have passed both the written and oral exams held last April and June 2011, respectively. While Dr. Erwin Palisoc, who graduated last December 2008, passed the oral exam.
2012 diplomate board exam given by the Philippine Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Catherine Valconcha, have passed both the written and oral exams held last April and June 2012, respectively.
2014 - diplomate board exam given by the Philippine Board of Ophthalmology, 4 of our graduates namely Dr. Karlo Paolo Alejo, Dr. Melquiades Figueroa, Dr. Jan Michael Reyes and Dr. Roland Bagnes have passed both the written and oral exams held last April and June 2014 respectively.

2015 - diplomate examinations given by the Philippine Board of Ophthalmology, 3 of our graduates namely Dr. Mamerto Capero, Dr. Arturo Capulong, Dr. Abegaile Bartolome passed the written exams held last April 2015 and 3 of our graduates were inducted as diplomates of the Philippine Board of Ophthalmology ( Dr. Mamerto Capero, Dr Arturo Capulong and Dr. Dexter Kaw). Dr Bibhuti Thapa, also a 2014 graduate, passed the Ophthalmology Diplomate Examination in Nepal.
Dr. Angelane Santos presented her study entitled “Visual Fields Easy”, An Ipad Application As a Simple Tool in Detecting Visual Field Defects” in the recently conducted PAO Annual Research contest, technical category and won second place. All the residents completed their research papers.

2016 – diplomate examinations given by the Philippine Board of Ophthalmology, 2 of our graduates namely Dr. Tricia Katrina T. Allas and Dr. Anna Lorena G. Chan passed the written and Oral exams last April 10 June 25-26,2016.
